the library of congress has begun to populate flickr with gojillions of images. this is a government project i can fully back. by adding the images to flickr and tagging them allows for indepth searching and indexing of the images thus making a huge catalog useful in a new way. you can find it here. hopefully this will start to set a precedent and government bodies will be a bit more open with things that belong to the american people in the first place.
