banksy a street artist from the UK had some works up on the auction block alongside the likes of keith haring and BLEK LE RAT among many others. this itself is crazy but one banksy piece fetched an amazing $443,489. street art is the new movement. whether the art community wants to realize it or not.
beautiful losers is an art exhibition that has/is traveled the world. it centers around the DIY attitude towards art, punk, skateboarding, etc. the exhibition is an inside look at what i believe is some of the most important contemporary artists in the nation. labeled as contemporary art and street culture, this exhibition was the beginning of street arts venture into the art world.

a building owner in london auctioned off a portion of his wall that banksy did a piece on. the cost of the auction did not include removal or transport of the wall. it was only a matter of time now that street art is hitting the mainstream more and more. but shit, $400,000 + thats a whole new world. it was only a matter of time that someone would cash in on it.. via < supertouch>
