as a way to remember strummer and his mark on the world billy bragg started a charity called jail guitar doors and it work to provide musical equipment for the use of inmates serving time in Her Majesty’s prisons. It takes its name from the b-side of the Clash’s 1978 single “Clash City Rockers”. the newly released shirt takes lyrics from White Man in Hammersmith Palais and puts them over an awesome portrait of strummer.

pretty crazy live recording sessions at AIR Studios in North London to be released on iTunes. dubbed iTunes Live London Sessions some of the artists include billy bragg, nick cave and the bad seeds among others. check the site for more info. if these are priced well this is yet another thing that could set digital downloads apart from the physical industry. throw in some videos at no extra cost, interviews, etc and shit would blow up.

nick blinko the singer, songwriter artist most known for his work in rudimentary peni an anarcho punk band from the UK in the late 70s and early 80s has reemerged onto my radar by doing the cover for the new iron lung record on prank records
